Remember this: Everything changed on 9/11/01
I can't say this enough. Everything changed on 9/11/01. Terrorists no longer consider it worthwhile to mastermind something as elaborate as an aircraft-plowing-into-skyscraper plan. They're too expensive to mastermind; those plans take years to implement; the attackers need to physically reside in the U.S.; and they all need to die at the end of the plan. Right now Al Qaeda wants to attack our critical infrastructures with a laptop and a modem just like they did in the movie 'Die Hard 4.' And when they do it — when Al Qaeda remotely attacks us from the comfort their caves in Afghanistan — they're going to succeed beyond their wildest dreams. And we, the United States, will be absolutely powerless to stop them from killing tens of thousands of innocent civilians every time they land a blow via our own vulnerable computer networks.
